2010 Ski-to-Sea HS Champs

The lads did it again! Our intrepid crew of local athletes sponsored by the Goat defended their 2009 title as High School champions in the grueling Ski to Sea race in Bellingham.  Given the number of elite teams entered, their 39th place is highly respectable.  Not bad considering there are 416 teams entered!

XC ski leg- Evan Turner gave the team a lead they never relenquished. Willie Devin hammered the DH ski portion while Nick Boesma (from Wenatchee) ran a very inspired race in the running portion. Marc LeDuc followed that with 38+ miles of road bike before handing off to Matty Coleman and Casey Smith in canoe while they negotiated twists and turns of the Nooksack River. Cody Cupp picked up the baton with a blistering pace on his mtn. bike. Max Christman anchored the final leg, sea kayak, and brought home the bacon!

These boys did an awesome job and earned the respect of a lot world class racers they rubbed shoulders with. Great job guys!!!!
